Carpentry III - Maintenance Carpentry72 hoursPrerequisite: Carpentry IIJob site safety using ladders, scaffolding, and platforms is stressed in this advanced course. The repair and placement of locksets, door closers, vinyl siding, dry wall, resilient flooring, and plastic laminate is also covered. Students learn to install drop ceiling, set up foundation forms, install steel door and window frames, and use metal framing components. Using insulation for thermal efficiency and sound control is also covered.
Carpentry IV - Finish Carpentry72 hoursPrerequisite: Carpentry IIIStudents learn to use shop tools; table saw, jointer, band saw, router, router table, dove tail jig, and miter saw to build simple cabinets and repair cabinet doors and drawers. Cabinet installation is covered along with wood finishing and installing interior trim.
